5 Valleys Physio

Sports Therapy

Sports Therapy is a recognised, non medical qualification. Their role is to assess and rehabilitate peripheral joint and muscular pain alongside other skills such as Sports Massage. Our Sports Therapists support our Physiotherapy and Osteopathy Services.

Sports Therapy is an aspect of private healthcare that is specifically concerned with the prevention of injury and the rehabilitation of the patient back to optimal levels of function, occupational or sport specific fitness, regardless of age or ability.

All of our therapists are licenced and governed by the Society of Sports Therapists (SST).  Some may have a Bachelors Degree whereas other may have developed through a more experiential route, undertaking a number of different courses rather than a straight degree.

Our Sports Therapists can conduct comprehensive assessments of any of the peripheral joints, ligaments or muscles.  They will then discuss a course of treatment that will suit the condition, and how to best restore the area back to full function.  They may use a broad array of treatment techniques including dry needling, cupping and sports massage.  Following a period of manual treatment you may then be set a strength and conditioning programme to address any muscular deficits.

Fees:

Initial Assessment up to 45 minutes:    £48.00

Follow Up Treatment up to 30 minutes:   £40.00

Extended treatments are available on request

Strength and Conditioning up to 60 minutes:   £50.00

(We will endeavour to provide a programme within this time, but depending on its complexity there may be a day or twos delay before receiving this)

Clients About Us

I've been very happy with the treatment and service received from Five Valleys Physio. I'd used the same physiotherapist near work in Bristol for years and was worried about changing. Having now done so, the reputation of Five Valleys Physio from friends is well deserved and I'll definitely be back when I break myself again!
